That kind of bullbar is pretty common here in rural Australia.
I don't tend to like them either. I'd prefer something a little less "semi-trailer" if it were my Bronco.
I should have mentioned that too, it's not my bronco, just one I spied in my local Kmart parking lot.

I agree with you entirely on that, I had the impression the bullbar was meant more for larger trucks.

That's a good point.
We need to work out a time frame for the whole bro truck thing.
If it's older than 15-20 years it's probably too old to be "bro".
For me the rationale has always been, if any mods that have been done are for practical reasons (to aid in work, or improve performance etc) and the truck gets properly "used", then it's probably not a bro truck.
What raised the question here though was the abundance of clean and shine.
Which is good on an obviously loved and restored older truck, but with that gigantic bullbar I just wasn't sure...

Really really clean. Obviously loved.
Didn't get to hear it running, but from what I could see it was well looked after.
The guy waiting in the passenger seat was more interested in his phone than me being nosey about the truck, so I didn't get to ask any useful questions.
Noticed it didn't have it's back seats which is a good indication that it gets used rather than pampered.

Yeah, the bullbar throws you for sure, otherwise it's pretty sweet.
As far as classification, I don't see many "bros" in older trucks. For some reason they have a shit ton of money to blow on newish trucks.

Not bro at all. Bro = F250 diesel lifted with stacks, murdered out, rollin coal. Bronco is just a sweet ass old truck. And that looks like an Australian kangaroo basher to me. And for an older truck possibly on a farm or in the country def acceptable to me.

Nah, I've seen hundreds of 70s and 80s bro trucks in Texas. They take perfectly good conditioned older work trucks, clean up the exterior, put on loud pipes, poor lift, and add stupid wheels. You'd have to go 60s or earlier if you want to set a time limit.

Like others stated, Bro-trucks need to be newer. He was the Bro-truck of his day though, whatever they called that back then. Mullet-truck? This is just a well maintained (by the looks of it) 2nd gen Bronco. What's with that giant cow pusher on the front though? Does he need more traction in 4-wheel drive so added a couple hundred pounds on the front?

The giant bullbar that looks more suited to a semi-trailer has kind of become a bogan accessory.
(a bogan being the Australian equivalent of a redneck/white trash type in the US, I think?)
Like most US bro truck accessories these types of things can and do serve a valid purpose if used or configured correctly.
Especially on the very long and very empty country highways here those giant-arsed bullbars are necessary as kangaroos (which can be as big and heavy as a large man), cattle, sheep, drop-bears and bunyips tend to just wander out onto the roads. Almost always if it's dusk and the sun is in your eyes.
Other useful things have been bastardised as bogan status symbols here too, like extra long CB radio antennas, extra wide mud guards, hunting spotlights and witty pub related bumper stickers.
None of which are bad in themselves, just bloody stupid on a lowered Holden commadore ute that's never seen dirt.
There is one not far from me that has such a heavy great bullbar on the front that it almost seems to be bottoming out the front shocks from the weight.
It's a shame really, as without that bullbar, this bronco looks very nice.

It is quite nice without the giant bar. I could do without the over molded side steps as well. Hopefully those things are pretty easily removed. With a nice front bumper and modest side steps this Bronco would look pretty good.
